About Structural Drying
Structural drying is the phase most often shortcut on a water damage job — and the phase that determines whether mold, warping and secondary damage appear weeks later. Removing standing water is only the beginning. The framing, subfloor, drywall and insulation that absorbed water have to be dried to specific moisture targets under controlled conditions, or the problems will resurface long after the visible water is gone.

What insurers care about most in this phase is documentation: daily moisture readings, drying-log entries, equipment records and confirmation that dry-standard was reached before closing anything up. We deliver all of it as a standard file on every job — no extras, no surprises.
If a previous contractor left work incomplete or moisture is discovered later, we can also perform independent drying verification and produce a report your carrier can use to reopen a claim.

How long does structural drying take?
Typically 3–5 days for a residential water event. Larger or more saturated spaces can take longer. We monitor daily so drying ends when readings prove the space is dry — not on a fixed timeline.
Can I turn off the equipment at night to reduce noise?
No. Turning drying equipment off resets the drying curve and extends the total drying time. Equipment must run continuously.
Do I need to leave my home during drying?
Most homeowners can stay. Drying equipment is noisy but safe to live around. We contain affected areas so the rest of the home stays usable.
Will the equipment increase my electricity bill?
Yes, modestly — usually documented and included in the claim scope.
Can hardwood floors really be dried in place?
Often yes — especially with cavity drying — if we're called within 24–48 hours of the water event.
What is dry-standard?
The moisture content of a material before it got wet — established by comparing readings from affected and unaffected areas of the same material.
What happens if drying is incomplete?
